My family ran Wales’ oldest wine bar, and alongside working in pretty much every position in the kitchen, bar and hotel, I also produced all the photography for the business.
Having seen the pressure and the passion of hospitality up-close, along with my love of photographing a wide-range of subjects to a very high standard makes me ideally placed to produce work that sells your business. I understand how it all works and I love what you do.
From working with chefs to capture their dishes perfectly, to photographing bedrooms housekeepers would be proud of, details matter, it’s what sets you apart from your competitors and I want to show that to the world.

I love working with chefs, without fail they show the greatest attention to detail of pretty much any profession. Frankly they make great collaborators, they want their food shown in the best light and it’s my job to help them.
The thing I’m most proud of is, in the twenty years I’ve been shooting plates, everything I’ve photographed has been eaten, no hairspray, no glue, no tricks, no waste – just honest meals captured at the best moment.

Your staff, your customers, your management, your suppliers. People connect with people, and your story goes beyond the plate.
The people behind your business are what give it its personality, and I want to capture that. From chefs and front-of-house teams to guests and the people working behind the scenes, I’m interested in the skill, character and care that make your business what it is.
And don’t worry, I’m good at putting people at ease. I’ve spent enough time behind a bar to know how to start a conversation.

Give your customers a sense of place.
People want to know where they are going and what to expect, inside and out. But great hospitality spaces are about more than square footage and carefully arranged furniture. They have atmosphere, character and those little details that make somewhere feel like nowhere else.
I love finding the light, the details and the views that make your place worth the journey – from the grandest room to the smallest corner.
Because if your photographs don’t make people want to be there, they’re probably not doing their job.
Alongside stills photography, I have a long background in motion work (including directing several feature films).
Few things tell a story quite the way video does.

Your business is different to any other, so your shoot won’t be like any other.
Every shoot starts with a conversation, what do you need the images to achieve, what makes you stand out, where do we put our focus?
I’m fairly unique in that I’m as comfortable photographing food as I am people as I am bedrooms and bars. To me, all these elements are an extension of your business, the same personality should be visible in everything, nothing should be throw away, it all gets the same respect and attention.

Capturing food at its best requires true skill. Bringing out the texture, colour, and essence that showcases the creativity and passion of our chefs and reflect the quality we deliver at Artemis Venue Services – it is essential to us that we partner with the best photographers in the industry.
